Snow Patrol have been nominated in three categories at the 2005 Brit Awards. The band are in the running for the ‘Best British Group’, ‘Best British Album’ and ‘Best British Rock Act’ awards. The nominations mean SP will be going head-to-head with Franz Ferdinand and Muse in all 3 categories with Keane and The Streets also pushing for the awards. Winners will be announced on the 9th February at the annual BRITS ceremony, now in it’s 25th year, which takes place at London’s Earl’s Court on February 9th. The band have also been named twice in the nominations for the 2005 Meteor Awards. The first category is the Best Irish Band award where they will go up against amongst others The Thrills and Bell-x1. They have also been nominated for Best Irish Album for the million selling Final Straw and will be battling with The Frames and The Thrills to take the title.
