Belle & Sebastian have announced an abundance of live shows in the last few days including a special one off show at the Hollywood Bowl in July, appearances in Zurich and Salzburg and an appearance at the free ‘Love Music Hate Racism’ event in Trafalgar Square, London at the end of April. Added to this they have also confirmed details of tours in Japan and Australia.
Taking these shows in date order the details are:
On April 29th they will be playing Trafalgar Square in London as part of the Love Music Hate Racism demo. This is a free event that attracted 40,000 people last year. More details can be found www.lovemusichateracism.com.
On April 30th the band will take part in this year’s Triptych Festival at The Tramway in Glasgow. B&S will coordinate a full day of entertainment including appearances from The Concretes, Vashti Bunyan, Edan and Voice Of The Seven Woods. There will be DJ sets from David Holmes, Andy Votel, Bob Stanley, Cherrystones and Jerry Dammers amongst others and St Etienne’s film “Finisterre” will be shown several times. There will also be various exhibits put together by members of the band. Tickets for this special event are very limited but are currently available from www.triptychfestival.com.
Next the band have added a new date to the start of the European leg of their tour in May with a show in Zurich, at the Aktionshalle on May 3rd and following that in June they will head to Japan and Australia to continue their promotion of ‘The Life Pursuit’.

Tickets for all three Japanese shows cost 6500YEN (plus booking fee) and go on sale from April 1st, tickets for the Australian dates cost between $65.00 and $75.90 plus booking fee and are available now. 
On July 6th comes the special show at the Hollywood Bowl when the band will be backed by the LA Philharmonic Orchestra. Tickets are on sale now at a range of different prices from www.hollywoodbowl.com and special guests will be added to the bill soon.
Later in July B&S will play the Summercase Festivals in Spain first at Montjuic in Barcelona on July 14th and then at Bodill del Monte in Madrid on July 15th. You can view the festival website www.summercase.com.
Lastly, on August 13th the band will appear at the Summer Sundae Festival in Leicester in the UK and to round these dates off they will be playing at the Frequency Festival in Salzburg, Austria on August 18th.
