Belle & Sebastian have confirmed that they will be playing two additional dates in the US around their special show at the Hollywood Bowl on July 6th with the LA Philharmonic Orchestra. Just prior to the LA show they will be doing a free show in Battery Park, New York on Independence Day, July 4th. This is a free show but there will be a priority ticketing system. The band’s special guest on the day will be Martha Wainwright.
Following on from their Hollywood Bowl performance the band will then play at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD on July 8th. Very special guests will be Broken Social Scene and Ted Leo & The Pharmacists. Tickets go on general sale on Saturday May 6th at $45 plus fees for standing floor and seated pavilion tickets and $30 plus fees for lawn tickets. Tickets will be available from www.ticketmaster.com or in person at Ticketmaster outlets (normal Ticketmaster fees apply). Back in the UK, the band will be playing the Carling Weekend Festival in Reading on August 25th and Leeds on August 26th. Sharing the bill, among many others, will be Audioslave, Fall Out Boy, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs. Check www.meanfiddler.com for details.
Belle & Sebastian have also confirmed that “White Collar Boy” will be the next single from “The Life Pursuit”, it will be released at the end of June.
