Isobel Campbell’s new collaborative album recorded with former Screaming Trees and Queens of The Stone Age vocalist Mark Lanegan will be released on January 30th 2006 through V2 Records. The album entitled ‘Ballad Of The Broken Seas’ is preceded by the single, ‘Ramblin Man’, which is out now.
‘Ramblin Man’ is available on limited 7″ vinyl, CD and as a download and is currently receiving plays on Radio 1, Radio 2, XFM and 6 Music in the UK where the video is also being shown on MTV2 and VH1.
‘Ramblin Man’ is described by Isobel as a ‘quite nasty’ cover of the Hank Williams original and would fit well in a Quentin Tarantino movie! ‘I was going for an old-school kind of approach. I’d been listening a lot to the ‘American Recordings’ by Johnny Cash and I’m a huge, huge fan of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra. It’s kind of sun-bleached and psychedelic, with a little bit of folk or country…..’
