If You Wanna
Jeepster new signings PARKA release single
Added on 30th March 2007

Explosive indie band Parka make their Jeepster debut with the release of ‘If You Wanna?’ on 7th May 2007.

Spotted by the fiercely independent label Jeepster last year, Parka’s first single for the label, ‘If You Wanna?’, is a rabble rousing call to the dancefloor from the Glaswegian four piece. The second single ever to be released by Parka, ‘If You Wanna?’ follows debut ‘Disco Dancer’ which was released on small indie singles label Worst Case Scenario in 2006. The band are quickly picking up the art of making the perfect pop song, ‘If You Wanna?’ is bound to be a dancefloor favourite in indie clubs all over the UK.

Hailing from Glasgow, Parka upped sticks and moved down to London’s East End this summer where they currently reside in an old strip club – complete with a pole in their front room. The band has since trodden the boards of the London club scene, toured with Boy Kill Boy, opened for The Automatic and The Enemy and sold out Glasgow’s King Tuts.

Produced by Stephen Hague (New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Blur), ‘If You Wanna?’ features two brilliant B Sides including the tongue in cheek Hoxton Hair and humorous drinking anthem, Closing Time. Expect to hear a lot more about Parka in 2007.
