The second solo album by Isobel Campbell, better known as the cellist with Belle and Sebastian, may prove too sweet for some but rich rewards await those who succumb to Campbell’s butter-soft whimsy Swansong For You’s bedroom listening for the broken-hearted. Let The Good Times Begin is a dewy-eyed wallow in misery, while Partner In Crime is a Nick Cave-esque barbed fairytale. A gentle, understated gem.
